I am a High School Student from New York City, who supports Newcastle United.
First falling in love with football in primary school, playing during school breaks, my interest grew into eventual obsession, becoming ever engrossed in anything football related. My first idol was Messi and his all-powerful Barcelona side's Tiki Taka system. However, I started supporting Newcastle because that is where my mum grew up and grandparents continue to live.
Over the years, I've learnt everything there was to know about football, from news to trivia and beyond. Eventually becoming the go-to guy for any conversation about football, I even had infamous wall collection of posters and memorabilia in my room.
In my free time, I compete in adaptive rock climbing and track as well as play video games, read books and hang out with friends.
Our name "The D" is primarily a reference to the semi-circle outside of the goalkeeper's 16-yard-box. However, it also pays homage to the origins of this site.
When I first came up with the idea to start a blog, I asked my friend, Daniel Turner if he could help with the web design and management portion, while I stuck to writing. With his initials being "DT" and mine, "EH," we figured that we'd use the old trick of re=arranging initials to find an appropriate name. Thus, "The D."
Although, I have since moved the site onto an independent domain, the name remains.
